Air Travel Restarts at Scotland's Busiest Airport After Significant ATC System Failure
Air travel have resumed at Scotland's primary international airport after a substantial technical issue at the control tower halted all operations.
Every arrival and departure were suspended due to an technical fault that occurred at about 08:30.
Some passengers reported being stuck in planes on the runway as the outage continued.
Operations Restart with Ongoing Delays
The airport confirmed at 10:40 that services were back online, and thanked passengers for their "understanding and cooperation".
However, considerable delays are likely to persist for some time. Flights to London Gatwick, Bristol, Amsterdam and Frankfurt have been axed, with numerous other services facing hold-ups.
A spokesperson had previously estimated that dozens of flights could be disrupted.
"Passengers are advised to check directly with their airline for the latest information on their booked journeys," the statement added.
